October 2020 Wrap Up

I’m baaacccckkkk with the only post that you seem to get from me nowadays. It’s not that I don’t have reviews written. I do! I’m just terrible at actually typing them up into something that is coherent and then posting them. I need an assistant who’ll take my handwritten sticky note reviews and will put them together for me. That would be nice.

I did really well this month reading wise! So I’m extremely proud of myself. I read a total of 8 books and the majority of them have quickly become new favorites of mine.

Without further ado here are all the books I read in October!

Ninth House (Alex Stern #1)

Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo: ★★★★

This was such a fun read for October and I’m so glad I read it in the spooky month. I listened to the audiobook and while the beginning was a little slow, it picked up eventually and soon I was falling in love with the characters. I need the second book ASAP.

The Rage of Dragons (The Burning, #1)

The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter: ★★★★

This book was so good and I don’t know why more people aren’t talking about it!!! It’s such an intense and amazing fantasy. The second book comes out soon and I can’t wait to dive into it.

The Bone Season (The Bone Season, #1)

The Bone Season by Samantha Shannon: ★★★

I really wanted to like this book and I did, just not as much as I had hoped to. I still want to continue with rest of the series and I’m hoping that as I continue reading I’ll like it more!

Black Sun (Between Earth and Sky, #1)

Black Sun by Rebecca Roanhorse: ★★★★

This was another amazing fantasy and I feel like everyone definitely needs to read it soon. I was immediately enthralled by the writing and the diverse cast of characters. If you have this on your TBR, definitely pick it up soon!

You Deserve Each Other

You Deserve Each Other by Sarah Hogle: ★★

I picked this up because I wanted a lighthearted read after all the intense fantasy I had been reading earlier in the month. This was not the best romance I’ve read but it also wasn’t the worst. I just really didn’t like the first 70% of it but the last 30% was cute…

A Reaper at the Gates (An Ember in the Ashes, #3)

A Reaper at the Gates by Sabaa Tahir: ★★★★★

I buddy read this with a friend of mine and it was amazing!!! There were so many twists and turns. I can’t wait for the last book to come out next month!

From Blood and Ash (Blood and Ash, #1)

From Blood and Ash by Jennifer L Armentrout: ★★★★

I loved this book so much. It was fun and entertaining. It was definitely also very sexy and I recommend it if you’re looking for a cute, sexy read!

The Once and Future Witches

The Once and Future Witches by Alix E Harrow: ★★★★★

I loved this book so much!!!! It was a little slow at first but then it started to pick up and I was in love. The characters were absolutely amazing and the actual story was so intricate. Definitely recommend this!

I’m hoping that this weekend I actually type up my review of The Burning God since it’s coming out soon, so be on the look out for that! How did you do reading wise this month?
