Guess who’s back again with the only consistent post they write?? If you guessed me then you’re absolutely right!
Monthly wrap up posts are so easy to write and they don’t take me that long which is why I keep writing them every month even if I don’t post anything in between them.
I am in the middle of writing my review of The Burning God though and I do want to have that out before the book comes out next month. I have about half of it written which is honestly how all my book reviews are right now.
Onto the books I read in the month of September!
The Alchemyst by Michael Scott: ★★★
First up is a book from my childhood that I wanted to reread. This was sweet and cute. It brought back a lot of memories of how much I loved to read as a child. I’m definitely going to continue with the series.
Jade War by Fonda Lee: ★★★★
I love this series so much and I don’t know how I’m going to wait for the last book to come out. There were a lot of twists and turns that I didn’t see coming and the last 100 pages of the book were so intense I almost started crying.
The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett: ★★★
At first I gave this four stars but then after thinking about it, I realized I didn’t like the ending that much so I knocked a star off. My mom actually recommended this to me and I’m glad that I read something outside of my comfort genre!
When I was falling behind on my reading goal I decided to read some graphic novels as a way to catch up on my goal. It worked well! I actually really enjoyed these graphic novels. I’m definitely going to continue with them and I’m interested to see what happens next.
The Burning God by R.F Kuang: ★★★★★
I most definitely screamed when I was approved for an ARC of this book. You have no idea how much I wanted it. I was absolutely devastated at the end of The Dragon Republic and when I saw ARCs of TBG were available for request, I hurriedly put mine in. It, however, took a solid month for me to get approved and I had lost all hope when one weekend I was approved and the rest is history. I have the review for this book half written and my goal is to post it this week. Will I achieve that goal? Let’s see?
Beach Read by Emily Henry: ★★★
This was a cute read. I wasn’t that invested in it but the audiobook went by quickly and I enjoyed what I listened to. I recommend it if you’re looking for some fun light hearted romance.
I read 8 books in the month of September which for me is pretty amazing. I do want to say though that I have already finished 2 books for October and it hasn’t even been a week into the month. Is it too optimistic to shoot for 10 books this month? We’ll find out at the end of the month!
What did you read in September? Let me know in the comments! I’m certainly looking for new books to add to my TBR!
