Top Ten Tuesday: Books On My Summer 2019 TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

I feel like there are so many books that I want to read this summer but I’m going to narrow it down to just a few. I don’t think it’s going to be ten though because I don’t have time to read ten books this summer…

An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1)

An Ember In The Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

I feel like I’ve had this book on my TBR since it came out four years ago and I still haven’t read it even though it has such great reviews. Hopefully I’ll get to it this summer.

Spin the Dawn (The Blood of Stars, #1)

Spin The Dawn by Elizabeth Lim

I can’t wait for this book to come out in July. I mean look at that gorgeous cover.

Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up with Me

Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me By Mariko Tamaki & Rosemary Valero-O’Connell

This seems like such a cute read and I really want to read it this summer! It’s a graphic novel so I know once I start it, it’ll be a quick read.

Nocturna (A Forgery of Magic, #1)

Nocturna by Maya Motayne

This is a book I’ve heard mixed reviews about but I still want to give it a try myself.

Kingsbane (Empirium, #2)

Kingsbane by Claire Legrand

I read Furyborn last year and I really liked it. I need to pick up Kingsbane so I know what happens.

That’s the short list of what I want to read this summer. Who knows if I’ll read even a single one of these.

  1. I hope you like Laura Dean Keeps Breaking Up With Me! I read it this month and really liked it, the art style was gorgeous and the story even better. And Spin the Dawn really does look good – it’s one of the book I hope to get to this summer, too.
    Great list!

  2. Spin the Dawn is supposed to be really good! I want to read Nocturna, too. I actually just finished Kingsbane, and I didn’t like it as much as Furyborn, but I think that’s an unpopular opinion, as a lot of reviewers seemed to like it better. I’d be interested to hear what you think when you’re done. Especially about that ending. *cough*

    Here’s my TTT post.

      1. Don’t worry. 😉 Like I said, my opinion seems to be an unpopular one. I see a ton of reviewers who LOVE the ending, so don’t let cranky old me scare you. 😛 I wasn’t in love with this one, but I did enjoy it. But I really enjoyed Furyborn. So judging by the reviews I’ve seen, you should love Kingsbane, since it seems like people who loved the first didn’t love the second and vice versa. xD And this is why I read other reviews when I finish a book. It’s so funny the trends you find sometimes.
